Back To Linux. Installing New Ubuntu Release 9.04

Its been a while since i used Linux. When i started working with my current company about 2 years ago, i have totally ditch Linux and use Windozzzz XP. reason? GAMES! i played World of Warcraft, but after 4 years, i realise how stupid the game is with endless grinding and farming. (ya, i only realise it is stupid after 4 years). so i did what is right and difficult for most WoW addicts, which is to unsubscribed. so no more WoW for me, which means, no use of windozzzz. which means? its back to Linux, and err, new game, which is EVE Online. there is a client for Linux for this cooool space game.

anyway, back to this Linux thing. long long time ago, when there were not much GUI and stuff, i started with red hat 4. but it never worked for me. i could not understand what is so great with this OS. so i constantly switch between my windows 95 and RedHat. i use Linux for defence btw... and sometime .. exploit! hah. ya, i constantly got frozen up during my irc days, so to chat in peace, i have to switch between my RedHat and Windblows. well, that's the only use of my Linux. Otherwise, i would use my good ol windows 95 for chat, gaming and stuff. those days we dont have web 2.0. there were no facebook, youtube, twitters, bloggers and stuff. all u can see in your web browser is text with images. The most canggih flash website comes somewhere in 1997 iicrc.

lets see., Ubuntu. hmm. after my RedHat days, i got a job as system Admin which requires me to install Linux .. a lot! during that time, i used RedHat first, then i hate it. after that i used Debian. i love debian because that apt-get stuff is so damn easy and cool. This is where i got hooked up with Linux. Then i used gentoo for 1 year. being able to customized my laptop with my prefers package is cool too. I setup Suse Enterprise a lot for my client. Mainly for system services. when i quit that company for a new one, i am back to windows. but now i have decided to try again Linux, but which distro should i go for?

Fedora? no waiii. Suse? boring. gentoo? looks like it is not well maintained. Freebsd? too nerdy. ubuntu? since it is debian based, and it just launch a new release, i decided to go for that.

btw, i did not format my laptop. i decide to give it a try first in my vmware. i might u turn u know ..

My first blog ...

so, what do i do know?
